Horiyoshi III accompanied by his son met Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado in Tokyo Palace Hotel, while joining Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan’s 70th anniversary celebration.
As unique as it is, especially in country where general opinion is that tattoo is fun of Yakuza gangsters, Horiyoshi was introduced to the member of Imperial family by president of FCCJ Suvendrini Kakuchi.
Since Horiyoshi III is the only Japanese tattoo master who gave already 3 times a lecture about Japanese tattoo and demonstration of tebori tattoo style in front of foreign correspondents at Tokyo located Foreign Correspondent Club of Japan, he is the tattoo master who is opening by constant effort Japanese tattoo to the world.
As a member of this prestige Correspondent Club, Horiyoshi and his son Souryou joined this time anniversary Galadinner. This event celebrated mostly the fact, that the FCCJ was founded 70 years ago, and since then, it was one of few institutions which openly reported about Japan. It was I believe also the main reason why the celebration was also graced by Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado.
